IRVINE, Calif., February 24, 2016 – XUMO, the premium television and video-on-demand service for the digital age, today announced the welcoming of Stefan Van Engen as the company’s senior vice president of content programming and acquisitions. With over 15 years of production and programming experience, Van Engen brings a wealth of expertise in content development and management to XUMO. Prior to this position, Van Engen was the SVP of Programming and Production for the digital start up, Bedrocket Media Ventures, served as the co-executive producer of The Gayle King Show at OWN, and before that as a production and development executive at Rainbow Media and CSTV, now CBS Sports Network.

As senior vice president of content programming and acquisitions, Van Engen will develop, lead and execute XUMO’s content and acquisition strategy, including ad-supported and forthcoming paid services offered through the XUMO Platform. In this newly established role, Van Engen will lead XUMO in fostering and recruiting content relationships so as to continue to differentiate XUMO’s OTT offering, including the developing of original and data-driven programming. As announced at CES, XUMO is natively integrated with VIZIO, Panasonic, LG and more top tier smart TV manufacturers. Additionally, XUMO will release mobile and desktop versions in 2016. XUMO’s decision to bring Van Engen into the business signals confidence in its growing content offering as well as viewership.

“Offering outstanding programming to our viewers is of utmost importance at XUMO as we strive to set the industry standard in consumer experience. With Stefan’s extensive and valuable expertise in this area, we are better positioned to curate meaningful, original, and engaging content,” said Colin Petrie-Norris, CEO of XUMO. “We are excited to have Stefan on board as we continue to challenge the status quo in terms of the quality and variety of premium OTT content available on the market today.”

Van Engen comes to XUMO from Bedrocket Media Ventures where he led the organization’s content teams, from development and ideation to successful distribution for each platform and media property. He was also able to successfully negotiate talent and production deals and build out their internal production group.
